Couple Shoot in Amsterdam

Couple Shoot in Amsterdam

Couple Shoot in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is known for its beautiful canals, quirky architecture, and lively nightlife. Most Couples opt for Pre Wedding Shoots but Mrinal and Puja chose the alternate route and decided on a photo shoot after the wedding festivities so they could enjoy and relax in the streets of Amsterdam.

It’s also a great place to find Dutch art and culture. It is sometimes referred to as the “Venice of the North” due to the vast number of canals. It is colloquially referred to as the world’s capital of bicycles. Anybody who has ever tried to make their way through the city centre of Amsterdam will tell you how painful it can get.

We did our best to capture the essence of this beautiful city in these photographs from the cobbled streets, and beautiful architectural houses to the number of canals.

By doing a photography session after your wedding, there is a freedom of locations, with as much time as you need. If you had to compromise on the site of your Wedding then this is your chance to have the backdrop of your dreams, from the beach to the forest, to wherever your imagination might take you.

Tamil Wedding in Mumbai

Tamil Wedding in Mumbai

Tamil Wedding in Mumbai

When we asked Sairam his take on love, he stated “Pyaar Dosti Hai”. And this is a story when two best friends married each other. Yes, total “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” feels. Another interesting part, Sairam & Pooja are neighbours in the same building, Soumya Towers in Chembur. And their journey from neighbours to friends to lovers brewed from there!

For the longest time, we wanted to shoot a full-fledged tamil wedding. We have ofcourse shot many of them (Akhil – Shruti, Swati – Yash ), but majorly they were all cross culture weddings, having one essence of tamil wedding, blended with the other culture. And thats when some time in October last year, we got a call from Sairam for the coverage of his wedding. Both Sairam & Pooja are tamilians. Since both of them stay in the same building, it was easy to have a meeting with both of them, plus their families. And soon we were on-board for their wedding in January 2019.

The wedding festivities spanned for three days, starting from the mehendi. Dressed in yellow & surrounded with all happy vibes were how Sairam & Pooja started their mehendi function, and we got to document a lot of happy stories there. It was followed by a very fun sangeet function in the evening. Friends & family danced their hearts out and it was such an amazing sight to see. The next day was followed by dance and engagement. The finale day was the wedding day. Pooja started getting ready very early in the morning and we started documenting the process from her house. What followed thereafter was beautiful, colourful & striking tamil wedding.

Pooja’s choice of saree & jewellery is worth mentioning here. She looked stunning in all the sarees Credits to MUA @shruthijulta for creating magic with her looks. Also, Sairam is hands down our quirkiest groom, his expressions says it all!

Let us watch their beautiful wedding film before we head to the photos.

From Friendzone to the Endzone: Naiya and Darshan’s Desi Beach Wedding in Kenya

What would you say if your brother prophesizes your wedding with the girl you had just met? This is the magical story of the lovely couple Darshan and Naiya, both NRIs residing in Uganda & Kenya respectively, who met at their friend’s wedding in 2014 and parted ways. A chance meeting brought them together again, where they became friends and stayed friends for a long time (much to Darshan’s dismay), before finally transforming into a couple (much to Darshan & Naiya’s joy), who decided to spend eternity together. We were so happy to be a part of their beautiful beach wedding when called by the duo, who wanted the Best Wedding photographers in India to capture their wedding held at  Nyali Resorts, Mombasa, Kenya.

Naiya, a hotelier from Nairobi and Darshan, an industrialist from Uganda, are both Gujratis settled in the Pardes, with shudh desi hearts, something that shone through all the ceremonies they held, be it the Sangeet, the Mehendi, or the Holi Pool Party – which made for great fun and some amazing photos!

The wedding festivities kicked off with an African themed-party. Balancing their African roots with their Indian heritage, the event had enthralling performances showcased by the African dancers. It was a true delight to capture the two love birds, who were decked up in traditional jazzy African attires, having an absolute blast with friends and family, as they shimmied the night away.

If Day One was a rocker, Day Two was nothing less of Rockfest! What started as a Haldi-applying ceremony, soon saw many more colors thrown in. We reached the pool to find the air lit up with an array of colors, as people drenched each other in water and played Holi to their heart’s content. True to their party animal spirits, the merriment continued throughout the day, into the evening, with the Sangeet ceremony, followed by yet another round of, you guessed it, a DJ party!

D-day arrived and saw the handsome couple turn up in color coordinating outfits as they walked down the wedding Mandap. The Palatial look of the Venue, with the attires worn by the guests, gave us major #Royaltyfeels. With the Var Malas exchanged and Vows said, Naiya officially became Darshan’s wife! The Vidai, as she rightly puts it, should be seen as an happy affair, for although you are moving away from your family, you are also moving towards the life of your dreams, with the person you love. The photos we captured are the testimony of that love. Naiya was extremely overjoyed when she saw these photos & the film and stated “KnotsbyAMP – Best Choice Ever”. We wish you two nothing but a lifetime of happiness and abundance. Look on!

Before you  head down to see the photos, have a look at the short film we made.

Gujrati Wedding in Taj Mahal Palace

Gujrati Wedding in Taj Mahal Palace

Gujrati Wedding in Taj Mahal Palace

If you have been following our instagram you would have definitely come across the hashtag : #Salgotpunked. Saloni & Pankil’s story is the classic case of “opposites attract each other”.

For their wedding celebrations in Mumbai they chose to host different functions in different venues across South-Mumbai spread over multiple days. But the highlight was the Sangeet and Wedding functions in Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai and Palace halls at NSCI. What resulted was a celebration which people will remember for many years to come. The festivities were conducted as per Gujrati rituals. It started with card-writing ceremony and picked steam from their cocktail function.

Before you dive into the photos here is their wedding film –

The festivities and celebrations as #salgotpunked –

  • CocktailAqaba in Parel : Set in this modern pub against the backdrop of Mumbai’s glittering skyline visible through glass wall on the west it was a perfect location for friends to revel in the celebration of the night with a free flowing bar counter. Beer ping-pong, DJ and subtle decoration of orchids made the setting even more joyful. But the highlight of the day was Pankil’s heartfelt speech for Saloni. While Saloni looked stunning in a purple  gown, Pankil looked dapper in his tux and a bow-tie. This was an event exclusively for Saloni and Pankil’s friends.
  • SangeetThe Taj Mahal Palace: Well choreographed performances by the family, a magnificent entry under the spot-light  in a tall and packed ballroom of the Taj-Palace hotel lined with grand & shimmering chandeliers it was a sight to behold. The decoration of the lamps at the entrance and the backdrop of the stage was stunning. Saloni’s lavender lehanga for the day won many hearts while Pankil wore a navy blue Jodhpuri on white Kurta and Pyjama.
  • Haldi – Birla Kreeda Kendra, Girgaon : Saloni went unconventional in her choice of her Haldi outfit. She wore a mustard Punjabi Ghagra and totally rocked the look. Pankil, on the other hand wore the classic kurta & Pyjama.
  • Wedding & ReceptionNSCI, Mumbai : NSCI Palace Halls hosted their beautiful wedding. As expected Saloni stole the show with her red bridal lehanga and Pankil looked cute in a cream sherwani. Wedding was solemnised through Gujrati traditions in a open mandap which was followed by a reception.

The excitement of the Parekh & Botadra families was over the moon, as they left no stones unturned to make the wedding grand and memorable. We let the photographs to do all the talking now and share Pankil & Saloni’s happiness from their best day!

Two States Wedding

Two States Wedding

Two States Wedding

One wedding that instantly comes to my mind whenever someone mentions the Two States movie is of Shruti and Ankit. While their families came from two different cultures, they mingled with each other very well without the usual shenanigans . While the bride was a Tamil Brahmin the groom hailed from Gujrat. They had a four day celebration in western suburbs with Sangeet, Mehandi, Wedding and Reception on all separate days. Just like the Two states movie the wedding venue was a temple in Dahisar, Vithal Rukhumai Mandir. A modern multi-story temple with its own banquet albeit not an ancient one with granite pillars.

Their functions kick-started with  Sangeet function in an open lawn setup which was full of enthralling and fun-filled performances. The photographs certainly do a better job of describing the excitement of the day. Shruti wore kurta styled lehanga designed by her friend Namrata who was a fashion designer while Ankit wore a sherwani.

The wedding day started early in the morning. While the bride started to get ready at 6 am, the baraat started at Ankit’s house at 6.30 am and the baraat reached the venue by 7.30 am. Ankit and Shruthi got married by both Tamilian and Gujrati traditions. For her Tamil wedding, the bride wore a pure silk Kanjivaram saree and accessorized her look with a stern gold Kamarbandh and multi-strand gold maathapatti patterned with beads. Ankit wore a traditional South-Indian groom’s outfit, a white dhoti and angavastram and complimented Shruti perfectly. Their wedding was full of traditional ceremonies, one of which included, the “Oonjal”, in which the couple are made to sit on a swing which is rocked gently. The swing’s oscillating motion is a message to the couple that they must stay strong together during both, the challenges and the joys of life.

The most emotional part of this delightful marriage was the Kannika Dhanam. An emotional wedding ritual practiced in South Indian culture, in which the father of the bride gives away his beloved daughter to the groom. Every stunning photograph taken at this wedding speaks of the efforts we put to nail the lighting and bring out the story. We wanted to give it a warm tone which was difficult considering the bad lighting in the hall. So we got cinema lights and bounced them from the ceiling at every corner and that did the trick.

Let’s have a look at a few of their precious moments captured so perfectly!  Let us start with the wedding day.
