Christian Hindu Church Wedding at Alila Diwa, Goa

First wedding shoot of this season commenced with this beautiful wedding in Goa. This couple had the best time of their lives and got married as per two traditions — Church wedding & Indian wedding. The Church Wedding follows in this one!

The venue for this grand destination wedding was Alila Diwa, Goa. Surrounded by greenery, an infinity pool, this polished hotel has high vaulted ceilings and wooden work throughout, offering a stylish take on a traditional decor.

The bride is a perfect blend of being all classy, beautiful and modest, at the same time. And no wonder, her impeccable choice reflected in every aspect of her wedding. Bride’s sister & her sister-in-law practically never left her side and were her Maids of Honour. Her Bridesmaids were color coordinated in blue. The groom is very shy on the other hand, rather we should say camera-shy. But the story gets different with a few pegs down, as evidently seen. The couple were classmates and have been in a decade long relationship, and they just look adorably cute together!

The Church Wedding happened at Our Lady of Remedios Church, Betalbalim Goa. We love shooting church weddings. Churches are very special and there are certain things about a church wedding, which you wouldn’t get anywhere. The best part is that you can make amazing vows and promises for your new journey totally engulfed in peace and serenity, which we totally evidenced and captured. The groom made a stylish entry in a vintage ford car and left the church with his newly wed bride in the same car and we were all amazed!

The celebrations for the day ended with an after party! There were speeches, karaoke, singing, dancing and rock n roll  in the beautifully decorated lawn in Alila Diwa. Both the families have known each other since a very long time, and there was so much ease and comfort in their interactions. Hats of to an amazing planning and execution! Everything proceeded just as planned, as the functions were simplified by keeping only the key functions. But, before we conclude, wait for the next blog to see their beautiful Indian Wedding in detail.

If you loved the beautiful church wedding in the previous blog story of Megh & Jive, you have something more to see! This time its the beautiful Indian wedding at Alila Diwa, Goa!

The beautiful bride was dressed in a beige chikankari lehenga, and the groom was looking ravishing a white sherwani. And a equally beautiful mandap decor with flowers to host the indian wedding. Everything was so beautiful and as the couple read over the vows & promises to each, they started their new journey with all – love, trust & understanding! And the happiness was infectious & spread all around, right from their familes, friends and all the guests present. Even to us, and we thank the couple for trusting us to capture the memories of their precious day!

This time around we got an opportunity to cover the wedding of Albert and Rebecca who got married in Nerul church through Syrian Christian customs followed by a grand reception at the CIDCO exhibition center. So most of our clients are predominantly the couple who first get in touch with us. But of late we are finding that parents are now increasingly getting in touch with us, which is a testimony of the paradigm shift which is taking place in Wedding Photography. These days parents are increasingly understanding the value of good photography and are ready to get the best for their children’s wedding. In this case as Albert works in UK with Apple Inc, his dad was in constant touch with us and brought us on-board.

Albert hails from Mumbai while Rebecca is from Chennai. Their wedding took place in Nerul church atop the hill in Navi Mumbai. You will get to see the story of the day unfolded more through the groom’s side as we were hired to do so. We love covering Christian Wedding as they are not so hectic in their schedule and are really fun and have a lot of character to them.  Will now let the photographs tell the story.

Multicutural Wedding in Ambarnath, Thane.

At AMP we have shot diverse weddings starting from Tulsi Vivaah, Sangeet party, Catholic wedding, many kinds of Hindu weddings and almost everything under the sun. Just as we were about to define diversity we stumbled upon Mayank and Roshni’s wedding that had it all in one. A true celebration of love that is bound by no culture. The joy of being together for a life time, flashed with the same energy and enthusiasm in all forms. If someone has taken mixing of diverse genes for superior progeny most seriously, it has to be them.

While Mayank is half punjabi and half malayali christian, Roshni comes from a Mangalorean Hindu family. Their union is perfect example of unity in diversity of India and how love can bring two different families together.

Their wedding was a three day affair. While Mayank knew Anupam from school, when Roshini stumbled across our work on facebook she suggested that they hire us. This came as a no-brainer to Mayank, and we were on-board to capture this amazing wedding.

The wedding took place in Ambarnath, Thane. The pre-wedding jitters were expressed in the form of endless dancing and a bunch of cocktails. The ambience was all set for a three day long gala wedding. The next day began with the Bride and the Groom taking the vows at the altar. Roshini was dressed in an alluring white gown with a glittery tiara on her head. Mayank walked into the church in a black suit and bow tie. The wedding was followed by an evening reception where Roshini wore a pink lahenga and of course, her dazzling smile! It is worth mentioning that the couple’s enthusiasm for the photographs was immense and during the couple shoot where couples generally get tired after 15-20 minutes of exploring the venue for perfect backdrops for some classy and memorable couple photographs, they were super thrilled to go on till 3 am in the night. Most weddings end there, but given the dynamite of energy that these guys were, this wasn’t the end!

The third and most fascinating day of ceremonies began when Roshini stepped down in a stunning purple saree for going through a Mangalorean style wedding. The ambience of the wedding suddenly changed into one with Nadaswaram and Thavil (shehnai and drums) pepping up the mood, gorgeous ladies in silk sarees and men wrapped in traditional munds. The ceremony began with a morning pooja followed by pheras. Roshini changed into a traditional Orange Kanjeevaram saree for the pheras. Throughout the wedding Mayank and Roshini enjoyed the energy in the room for their union. The day ended with this zealous couple walking to a 12th century ancient temple in Ambarnath, where we captured some of their shots with the magnificent architecture in the background. This wedding gave us so many opportunities to just keeping on capturing the marvel of so many cultures. We saw the couple walking the isle and taking the vows at the altar and then saw them the next day holding hands around the sacred fire. Love is indeed defined by the sparkle of smiles on the faces of the two people, whether in a church or a temple.
