Indo-Dutch Telugu Wedding in Hyderabad

Varun & Sanne’s telugu wedding celebrations were spread across 3 days in various locations all over Hyderabad. South Indian weddings always tend to give the best pictures perhaps because they are filled with color, gorgeous bridal wear, and tons of laughter and love!

The festivities started with a fun Mangal Snanam ceremony at the Groom’s place, where the couple’s close friends and family joined them and showered their love and blessings. The following evening at the gorgeous Hyderabad Polo and Riding Club, the Mehendi ceremony was a fun-filled event where Sanne got her hands intricately decorated, and her father gave a heartwarming speech to congratulate the couple which made them emotional but soon after a few hugs and tears were shared they got the party started. With an open bar and loud music, the crowd didn’t need any more motivation to hit the dance floor and groove the night away.

Sangeet, the next evening was a sundowner to a sunrise event where their close friends and family did a few dance performances, and sang a dutch song on stage that they wrote which bought out hoots and laughter from the couple. Sanne and Varun did a fantastic number to a Telugu song that wowed the crowd.

The Wedding Day showcased Sanne in a Gold Silk Saree adorned with traditional gold jewellery, and Varun colour coordinated with this better half sporting a cream sherwani with gold details. After the formalities of the puja were done, the Varmala took place joyously, and the rice shower ceremony was a fun event with smiles and laughter lighting up the area.

Tamil wedding at Ganjam Mandapam, Bangalore

Tamil wedding at Ganjam Mandapam, Bangalore

Tamil wedding at Ganjam Mandapam, Bangalore

They rightly say there is beauty in simplicity and we should never overlook the power of simplicity. We literally understood this when we reached this particular wedding venue in Bangalore last month. “Ganjam Mantapa”, located in heart of Basavanagudi is a huge medieval house converted to a charming and intimate mantapa by the renowned architect Renu Mistry. The typical south indian setting, the old world charm and the elegance of the place took our attention completely the moment we stepped in. The key highlights of the venue is in the details, including the beautiful ponds outside the venue decorated with rose and marigold, the spiral staircase for the bride to walk down to the mantap, the traditional Kolam around the doors of the main mantap and the walls painted with mango leaves and the traditional slopping roof.

When you see the pictures, you will see some incredible shots of the finest minute details – the golden necklace on the shiv lingam, the bride’s jhumkas playing in the lights, the divine necklace on the wooden sculpture. But the essence of the photography remained the precious and simple moments captured in a documentary style – no distraction, just pure bliss of the photographs in its native form.

The Bride and the Groom, Shruti and Akhil, (both BITS Goa Alumni) fell in love over multiple lunches, movies, zillion bike rides and many peaceful park walks, while they worked together in  Amazon.

They wanted to deviate from the concrete mantapam wedding, and so very thoughtfully chose the venue considering the peace and calmness surrounding it. To brew some more “South-Indianess”, it is very interesting to note that the bride’s dad is telegu, her mom is tamil and her groom is mallu. The South Indian states’ diverse fusion is the main essence of this wedding, which is clearly reflected in the photographs.

The bridal wear consisted of pretty and flair display of Kanjeevarams consisting of yellows, blues, oranges and pink. The golden accessories paired with the variety of colourful kanjeevarams lit up the bride’s face, as she personified elegance in every frame. On the wedding day, Shruti wore the nine-yard Kanjeevaram silk saree (Madisaree) in shades of yellow and green border. A very integral part of the bridal jewellery was the typical temple jewellery and amazing golden necklaces and ear-rings which were designed out of temple art. Also, what caught the eye were the beautifully done little flower garlands wrapped around the hair, making a long braid. The expressive Groom, on the other hand wore the traditional attire and matched his bride’s exuberance in every frame. The two day festivities included, Naandi (invocation of ancestors), Varpooja, Malaai Matra ( Varmala exchange ) Nichyathartham ( Engagement ceremony ), Kashi Yatra, Oonjal and finally the Tamil-Telugu mixed style wedding followed by Satyanarayan Puja on the last day. Not forgetting to mention, the couple shoots of the fun loving couple turned out to be amazing, as they were thrilled to explore the different facets of the gorgeous venue. Now let the photos enthrall you ! Do give us your feedback and comments, likes and shares!

Mayuri & Dhaval: Destination Wedding in Igatpuri

“Run away from the chaos of the city, and you will find the peace to get lost in one another.” Destination wedding, as exciting as they are for the couple, so are they for a photographer. It makes the love between two people shine brighter and as a photographer it is a greater pleasure to capture such a natural love story. Unhidden smiles, quick time out shots, beautiful sky and loving little family is what sums up Dhaval and Mayuri’s destination wedding at Igatpuri.

The story began in the college days when Dhaval and Mayuri met in Pune as Pharma students. Mayuri, a very chirpy and enthusiastic bride met the rather calm and poised groom, Dhaval, to only discover that, opposites do attract. Their story had many better days to see from there and on 3rd January 2016 they tied the much stronger knot to love each other for a lifelong. The wedding spanned over two days in a resort at Igatpuri following the Marwari traditions. This lively collection of photographs comes from the determination of an enthusiastic bride who missed no chance to pose with her handsome groom and the bright encompassing sky above. This wedding shoot was led by KnotsbyAMP Photographer Prasad Patil.

Gujrati wedding in Mumbai

Gujrati wedding in Mumbai

Gujrati wedding in Mumbai

Friendship is a relationship that is bound by no norms of the society. It is the simple joy of being together and being there for each other. When the foundation of a marriage is laid by one such strong relationship of friendship then there is only ahead to look from there. Kanan and Nirav stood like two friends redefining their relationship with each other, as they did 3 years back. Their relationship goes back to the long drawn conversations at foyer tables in college, growing into a friendship that they dearly cherished. Kanan is an advocate by profession and Nirav work as an Economists. Their love story began on a chaotic night at the Delhi railway station while Kanan made a pit stop during her trip. Those special moments made them realize that they shared a bond much stronger than just being friends. As she boarded her train back to Bombay one text message paved the way to making 30th December happen for Kanan and Nirav. In the last three years, Nirav moved around for work within and outside the country, but their love stood the test of distance bringing them closer.

The marriage took place in Andheri following the Gujurati tradition. Stunning entry of the bride, groom’s enthusiastic baarat and the joy shared by all to see these two make it together was what made the day special. Shooting a well-planned wedding is the first step towards a great collection of photographs. Kanan and Nirav’s wedding gave us the perfect space to do that. There was a fabulous vanity van which was the innovative gift the two fathers came up with for the couple’s wedding day. As the baarat prepared to leave from the groom’s house, the bride was preparing to begin the pre wedding rituals. It began with the mandap sthapna puja and Kanan’s brother’s thread ceremony. She then stepped into her Vanity Van to get ready to welcome the groom. Every little ceremony was planned with great precision and creativity. As Nirav arrived with the baraat, filled with thrilled faces of common friends and family members, Kanan was all set to welcome them. She walked through the ‘gate of hands’ to get to the groom. In the Gujarati tradition as the bride is walking to the groom the folks try to trap her at the gate. The pictures capture all the naughtiness of the folks and the how Kanan makes her way to welcome Nirav. The excited couple, finally caught each other’s sight and greeted each other with garlands. The bride then poses for a grand entry at the Mandap where the groom is waiting. She is escorted by her Mama under a beautifully lit chaddar headed by a tiny tod holding a banner saying “Here comes the bride”! At the mandap the final wedding rituals are proceeded. It was indeed a unique wedding in many ways. The guests were given little guest cards to write on and leave their wishes and blessing for Kanan and Nirav. Every picture captures the excitement and naughtiness of the couple as they be the two beautiful friends committing to be there for each other, forever.

Nirav who is a photographer too, after their big day dropped a word of praise for AMP “The pictures we saw so far were beautiful. They had great composition and sharpness. The spontaneity they captured in each picture was commendable too!”

Maharashtrian wedding in Indore

Maharashtrian wedding in Indore

What makes every photograph best in itself, is the moment it captures now and the memories it builds for later. A picture hides the stories lived by many eyes into one. Aalekh & Shraddha’s wedding is woven into one by these pictures that say a hundred words of vows, rituals, love, joy and determination. At Fortune Landmark Indore, where the hotel was lit up to celebrate many such stories, Aalekh & Shraddha stood there walking up a determined journey of being with each other for 8 long years. The confident and jovial fashion designer, Shraddha, met the calm and composed engineer Aalekh during college days and their story took the most beautiful turn in a palatial mandap on 9th December 2015 with their loved ones as they decided to hold each other’s hand for a lifetime. As the marriage ceremonies were wound up among the close knit members of the family, the reception welcomed friends and other members to join the festivity. The wedding was full of charm and fun blended well in the Maharashtrian tradition. The reception was a magnificent get together at the rooftop hall of Sayaji Hotel in Indore. Here is the complete photo-set!
