The Story:

KnotsbyAMP founders Anupam & Soumi were approached to cover this beautiful wedding at Renaissance Hotel Powai, Mumbai by Amritanshu who is groom’s brother-in-law. Jatin & Levina’s story started when they were in high school in Bangkok. They were extremely fond of each other. However, life took over and they moved to different cities and lost touch with each other for few years. Thankfully, destiny had big plans for them so eventually they met again in Bangalore and fell for each other, head over heels. Subsequently, they kept travelling across different continents to meet each other and eventually Jatin proposed Levina in Sri-Lanka. She said yes, and they were all set to get married.

The Wedding:

From the beginning Jatin & Levina were sure about one thing, they wanted their wedding to be close to the nature and Renaissance Hotel in Powai with its close proximity to the lake and the swooning greenery made it ideal choice for their big day. As Jatin was in Bangalore, and Levina in USA, the wedding planning responsibility came to Shubhi & Amritanshu (Jatin’s sister & brother-in-law) who are based in Mumbai. They had just one directive from the couple – to get the best wedding photographers in Mumbai onboard for the wedding. Hence, it was both of them who approached us and very soon we were all set to shoot Jatin & Levina’s big day. The festivities began with mehndi ceremony which was flavored with Rajasthani folk dance and Punjabi Dhol in line with the two cultures which united for this wedding – Rajasthani & Punjabi.

The wedding was planned with great attention to detail and National decorators did a fabulous job of making the couple’s dream come true. On the wedding day, Jatin was left totally awestruck as he entered Levina’s room and glanced at her, she was a beautiful vision in red. As the sun came out in the sky and sneaking past white-foamy clouds it lifted everyone’s spirits. It was a beautiful day with warmth and festive vibes all around as the friends and family gathered to celebrate the union of Jatin & Levina. After getting ready and clicking lots of pictures with Jatin and her friends Levina walked down the aisle with a gorgeous smile and happiness in her heart, with her sister & friends carrying the phoolon ki doli all the way. Meanwhile, Jatin waited with his breath held tight to glimpse at her. One of the cutest moment to see was how he lent forward, reached out to Levina as she got on the mandap. As their eyes met, she had the brightest smile. This was the moment they waited for so long, and it was finally happening. Thereafter, in the beautiful golden hour, Jatin & Levina took their vows and made their promises to be with each other forever and got tied in holi matrimony. The night ended with the reception, which was all about dancing and grooving to music and have all the fun.

This wedding is very special to us, because of all the love, warmth, support, encouragement, appreciation we received from both the families. So, thank you Jatin, Levina, Shubhi, Amritanshu, Angela and both of the families for making us a part of your two special days! 🙂

Amritanshu’s Glowing Review:

Over past 5 years we have covered 250+ weddings, won multiple awards along with featuring in Best Photographers in India lists but nothing has come close to the review that Amritanshu has given us. The review is a blog in itself and perhaps deserves a separate post but for the sake of inclusiveness helping all our future brides and grooms to select their dream wedding photographers in India here is the full text as also mentioned in our Google Review.

“We enlisted the help and services of KnotsbyAMP for the wedding of my brother in-law Jatin and his (now) wife Levina which happened this January at the Renaissance Hotel, Mumbai. Before, I move on to the specifics of our review, I would like to summarise by saying that with KnotsbyAMP what one can expect is amazing, elegant, detailed, high on technique, creative and artsy photography; the most vibrant and fun-filled videography and the opportunity to work with a highly dedicated, passionate, professional and trustworthy group of good human beings. I’ll rate them as follows under the following categories out of a maximum rating of 5:

Candid Photography : 5 / 5
Portrait Photography : 5 / 5
Location Photography : 5 / 5
Wedding Videography : 5 / 5
Video Editing and Composition : 5 / 5
Ease of doing business : 5 / 5
Professionalism on deliverables : 5 / 5

Quality of work delivered: The pictures shared with us are beautifully captured and they brilliantly document the happiness and joy being experienced by the couple on their special day. It is actually like a photo-story. We love the clean elegant frames, the clever angles, the interplay between lights and shadows, the switches between blur and sharpness, and the amazing colour balance and tone of the photographs — all of which is really owing to their masterful application of technique and talent. It is as well very refreshing to see some interesting, intelligent and visually engaging concepts in the work shared with us.

On a more personal note, what makes their work standout is their understanding of the people they are shooting. What impressed me the most is how balanced their work is. It is incredibly difficult to shoot weddings where so many things are happening parallelly. To capture all the fun, the drama, the emotions, one has to be well synced with their team, one needs to have a high level of awareness and be a master of timing, as the real difference between a good photograph and great one is timing, angle and the right frame. With the KnotsbyAMP team led by Anupam Maurya, you will get all of this and much more. More specific to our wedding, team KnotsbyAMP have masterfully framed all the beauty of the bride and groom and all of our family and friends so perfectly retaining all the essence of reality and making it possible for us relive and cherish all the precious moments from our family event — as many times as we want now.

Overall, we couldn’t be any more happier and content with the photos and the teaser video and our family is waiting with eager anticipation for the wedding film. On a concluding note, I must mention that along the way while we prepared for the wedding, we have had the good fortune of meeting some amazing people who have made sure that everything associated with the wedding happened perfectly. KnotsbyAMP are a huge irreplaceable part of that, I would once again like to thank the entire team from the bottom of our hearts for their positive presence, professionalism and for the incredible talent that they brought on board for our event.”

“KnotsbyAMP are a team of excellent photographers especially with candid shots. They are very professional, accommodating and creative. They cater to your requirements with an eye to capture the best moments. Would highly recommend!”

For a couple, who value detailed little things and the intricacies that go behind it, choosing a photographer to capture their wedding had to be thoughtfully done. The groom, a hobbyist photographer himself understands the nuances of photography. Initially, they were planning to hire a photographer from NY itself. But when they saw our work on Facebook, they were particularly impressed by the candid timing of the pictures, the details we captured at the weddings, and our creative lighting setups. So after a series of calls, e-mails and meetings, we were booked and all eyes were set on 28th May, 2015; when the handsome groom and the exuberant bride were tying the knot. Our experience of covering this wedding was totally remarkable as there was so much love and energy spread throughout the 2 and 1/2 days.

The marriage function kick-started with groom’s haldi on one side and Natasha’s mehendi on the other. Groom’s haldi was a fun-filled event, where the groom-to-be was pampered with yellow hues all over his face by his family members and relatives. On the other hand, Natasha’s Mehendi ceremony was spectacularly beautiful. She adorned herself in a baby pink lehanga with a stellar white earring set, jhoomka on her forehead and a long neck-piece set. It is interesting to mention here that Natasha’s entire ensemble for her wedding was designed with a lot of love by her own mother.

Post the haldi and mehendi functions, we headed to cover the most happening cocktail party at the NSCI club (National Sports Club of India). The sangeet and the cocktail functions were clubbed together, and the fun we saw is too hard to describe here. The couple   conceptualized a Bollywood theme which was executed flawlessly with the help of their friends; the highlight being cameos by Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan look-a-likes. The function saw the presence of a star-studded guest list and the happening crowd of South Bombay. So, there were lights, props, photo-booths, a magnificent stage, a bunch of crazy friends and last but not the least, alcohol. The night saw some sexy and killer moves and grooves of the friends, and the stars of the night who were dressed in Indo-western fusion attire. New friendships were made, old ones were relived, crazy antics were done and new stories came to life on this memorable night. Cocktail-parties surely loosens  up everyone as they plunge into dancing, singing and sharing the joys of their hearts with their near and dear ones.

After back-to-back eventful functions, all of us were eager to capture the D-day. The wedding was to be solemnized as per Arya Samaj rituals at Taj Vivanta (The President Hotel), Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. Natasha looked stunning in her beige and golden lehenga. Credits again to her mom. For jewellery, she chose a heavy Kundan work neck-piece set, coupling them with matching sets in her ears and forehead. Her make-up was flawless and aesthetically done to suit it with her bridal wear and accessories. Her striking look totally set her apart, so much that we received a lot of queries from our friends and clients, asking details about her ensemble, make-up and jewellery, when we posted the wedding pictures on Facebook. The groom chose a white sherwani topping it with a golden pagdi and a shining green neck-piece set and looked dapper in every way. Natasha wearing kaleera in her hands, was escorted to the mandap by her father and loved ones under the cover of a red chunri. As he was waiting eagerly for his bride and when their eyes met, he was totally in awe and bowled over.

As he also mentioned in the wedding film –

“When we were sitting in the mandap getting married, exchanging vows in front of our parents, our friends; it was a bit scary and made me realize — this is legit, this is real; this is two people coming together and committing to spend the rest of their lives together through thick and through thin; and it was a very serious and deep moment, but a meaningful one”

After the traditional rituals took place, there were a flurry of friends and relatives who were eagerly waiting to wish the couple, followed by a cake cutting. And that is how, they got one step closer and each picture brings out the essence of this fun-filled ceremonies and the charming chemistry of the couple 🙂

Also checkout the beautiful short film we made on their wedding. It beautifully captures their journey and the essence of their story and wedding.

P.S. The groom’s name is not mentioned at his request.
