Engagement at Tote on the Turf

Its said that with an engagement begins an eternal love story, and so it happened for Akanksha & Rohan.

Akanksha & Rohan got ready at Four Seasons, Mumbai. They made some time for some beautiful portraits. And later on the party shifted to Tote on the Turf. The venue was lit with lights and amazing decor. And in the most grand way, Akanksha & Rohan made their entry and their friends and familes cheered for them. Soon, it was followed by ring exchange and cake cutting. Thereafter, the party went on till the wee hours of the night. And we stuck around till the end to document some beautiful performances of the couple and their family and friends.

Thank you Akanksha & Rohan to get us on board for capturing this special day and making us a part of the happiness!

Offbeat Pre-Wedding Shoot in Mumbai

Offbeat Pre-Wedding Shoot in Mumbai

Offbeat Pre-Wedding Shoot in Mumbai

We are sure you will find this pre-wedding shoot unusual and different from what you may have seen so far.  Well, if not entirely then in a great measure this was the first time we shot an intimate pre-wedding shoot. As couples increasingly look to do something different from the rest, they are ready to get out of their comfort zone and try new ideas. We feel the best way to do something is different is to personalise the shoot by letting the photographs depict your personality and story.

Omkar & Punita wanted an unusual and different pre-wedding shoot from the beginning. We brainstormed on many ideas ranging from basing it on their personality, shooting it entirely in a studio to even an intimate boudoir shoot. What finally we ended up doing was a mix of the usual to unusual. Hence photographs reflect their chemistry at Mumbai’s iconic Gateway of India, a comic re-enactment of how they met through their mutual friend – Pranav, their first kiss in a Kaali-Peeli and finally an intimate shoot in a beautiful property – Seven Sands Villa, in Lonavala which culminated with a re-staging of Tip Tip Barsa Pani from the movie Mohra. Location for the second half the pre-wedding was Seven-Sands Villa in Lonavala. Thanks to Vishal and Mrinal and their hospitality we had a hassle free shooting experience at their property.

Destination Wedding in Nainital

Destination Wedding in Nainital

Destination Wedding in Nainital

There are some warm stories, which stay with you for really long and this one is from the gorgeous hill station Nainital – The beautiful wedding story of Ketan & Ritambhara a.k.a Ritu. Ketan & Ritu chose the beautiful city of lakes, Nainital for their destination wedding, and we could not be more happier to be a part of their big day. What really stood apart is the simplicity, warmth and the serenity of this entire wedding, and you can definitely see in the photographs.

The wedding festivities happened at the Shervani Hill Top Resort. The resort gives a totally unseen view of Nainital, and is totally quiet and peaceful, away from the maddening crowd. Having several photo-ops around, the resort was blooming with huge varieties of flowers. The beauty of nature is at its peak. But the person who made this wedding more special is the bride, Ritu. All because she was the bride who refused to smile and stated ” I will not smile, if you ask me to” :). Hands down the most quirkiest bride we have ever shot. And yet, we managed to frame the moments where she enjoyed herself to the fullest. Now, take a look down in the pictures below

Farmhouse Shoot

Farmhouse Shoot

Our second shoot of this wedding season was with Shreyas & Shruti, in Mangalore, Karnataka. We were already smitten by the pristine beaches, greenery, array of coconut trees, temples and churches that Mangalore had to offer. Thereafter, we got to know we were shooting the couple at their gorgeous farmhouse the next day post their wedding.

Shruti & Shreyas got married as per south-indian rituals at Shreyas’s hometown in Mangalore. The wedding blog is coming in the next installment. What we could not wait, but to share is their beautiful post-wedding shoot at Shreyas’s farmhouse near Mangalore. Shreyas & Shruti moved to their farmhouse just after their wedding. The same farmhouse which Shreyas is very proud of. They were really looking forward to a photoshoot there. When we reached there at 6 am, we were truly mesmerized by the greenery, various plantations and the setting of his idyllic farmhouse. In the pictures, you will see the beauty of the green banana leaves, the sun’s first rays falling on them, tall and narrow supari trees which also yield chemical for paints. Shruti got a first hand glimpse of the farmhouse, which she had heard so much from Shreyas, over the long course of their relationship. And just like us, she was so amazed. All these made for some stunning photographs.

This is something we had wanted to do since a long time! Thank you Shreyas & Shruti for trusting us and giving this beautiful treat with natural beauty!

The court wedding

The court wedding

The court wedding

We all must admit that most of us men have at least once or more have fantasized about getting married in a court. The brevity, simplicity and yes the savings coupled with absence of long guest-lists and annoying relatives make it a icing on the cake. While I didn’t have the fortune of getting married in the court, but my long cherished desire to cover a court wedding was fulfilled when, through a client-reference, We got an enquiry from Hans Dalal. The groom and the bride are wildlife photographers and work for preservation of wildlife at Tadoba National Park, Maharastra. It is always a privilege when you are selected by photographers to shoot their wedding and more so when they are such distinguished set of people trying to make this world a better place for everyone.

Hans despite suffering from cerebral palsy was a sound engineer who worked on many Bollywood scores before getting into wildlife conservation. The bride, Avantika Chandra, worked in the airline industry with KLM before two of them started their NGO – PROWL.

Intimate Wedding at Home

Intimate Wedding at Home

Intimate Wedding at Home

At AMP, we have shot variety of weddings. But still this one is a first. Govindam and Elizabeth’s wedding in Mumbai is something which breaks all conventions and stereotypes. This is the first time we witnessed an intimate inter-religious wedding which took place at home. Breaking the shackles of conventions truly!

Govindam Yadav, a BITS Pilani alumni hailing from Lucknow, UP met Elizabeth Mathew, a Malayali christian while working and they decided on forever. Both the families heartily accepted their decision. The wedding venue was Elizabeth’s home in Mumbai. This was quite refreshing to witness and photograph, as there were only limited close knit people at the house. The atmosphere was very relaxed and least stressful. As they got married, they also set a new trend and reminded us marriages are not always about grand celebrations, but resolve and promises made by two individuals to spend their lives with the blessings of their loved ones.
