Christian Wedding in Madh Island

We always enjoy covering a white wedding because of it’s fun nature and chill vibes. This one was held at Andy’s resort in Madh Island. Our couple got ready at their individual homes and turned up at the Church where a ceremonial mass was held for them, followed by the ring exchange and a Reception.

Reema and Andy met through the matrimonial site, Jeevansathi.com and had mixed feelings about each other initially. They did not know, however, that cupid had already struck them as they continued talking to one another well after their date. This soon progressed into liking one another and ultimately, culminating in the decision of getting married!

There was no proposal, mind you, but their hearts were already set on one another and like they to say, love was in the air!

Along with the Wedding, we also captured a pre-wedding shoot for the adorable duo. Head on below to have a look!

Christian Wedding Mumbai: The Monirun-way

February started with a bang with one of the most fun-filled weddings of the season so far. Love was in the air as Monisha Rao – a cabin crew at Etihad Airlines fell in love with a Varun Shetty from Fly Dubai over drinks. The two decided to get married and got in touch with us to document their special day – KnotsbyAMP style. Monisha & Varun wanted the best wedding photographers in India to capture their special day and they went ahead with booking us 11 months in advance.

We, as wedding photographers, always look forward to white weddings for their no-nonsense, merry and jovial vibes – Monisha & Varun’s wedding was not an exception.  After two gruesome months of back-to-back shoots, hectic schedules with little to no sleep, this wedding – with more than its fair share of dance, drama, music, games.. and some more dance – was just what the doctor prescribed.

Monisha & Varun celebrated their nuptials at The St. Blaise Church, Amboli followed by a night of ‘Drinks, Dinner, and Dance’ at The Peninsula Grand Hotel.  Before their wedding ceremony, Monisha and Varun got ready at their respective residences in Andheri.  Monisha’s quaint little house served as the perfect backdrop for the honest and quirky storytelling pictures that followed. Her house was a hub of activities as the bridal entourage helped each other with their wedding attire. The buzz and chaos is palpable from the pictures and so is the excitement as the bridesmaids help the bride with her final look. The highlight being the cute little messages the two had written to one another on the sole of their shoes – Solemates indeed!!
Varun got ready with the help of his groomsmen and boy did he look dapper in his white tuxedo, complete with his uber cool wayfarers and those superman cufflinks. This was followed by a short blessing ceremony before the bride and groom’s entourage left for the church.

Monisha was escorted down the aisle by her parents as everyone in attendance including Varun looked at her in awe. Soon after there was a short mass and the ring exchange ceremony thereafter.
Churches present a unique challenge for us as photographers in the form of restricted movement during the mass. It was important that we placed ourselves such that we wouldn’t have to move much and set our lights in such a way that it didn’t restrict anyone’s view. Our tele lenses came in handy here.  We decided to get hold of the couple and their close family members soon after the nuptials for a family photograph. Couple portraits and the photos of the bride and groom entourage followed thereafter. The sheer number of pictures we have of the couple kissing each other is a testament to their chemistry.

Alcohol – Because no great story started with someone eating a salad” – This is what we first read as soon as we entered the reception venue at The Peninsula Grand and we got a rough idea of what was in store for us. The venue had a central dance floor surrounded by a banquet style seating for the guests.  The bride and groom danced their way into the venue to the tune of their favourite song . They were showered with confetti as they danced around the dance floor for a bit before settling down for the cake cutting ceremony. The champagne was popped, the best man and the maid of honor raised a toast to the bride and the groom respectively. The father/daughter dance and the first dance followed thereafter and the two were seen exchanging glances and making faces to each other throughout. This was followed by some fun games before everyone dispersed for dinner and drinks. Meanwhile, the couple decided to meet and greet their guests and we snuck in some couple portraits soon after. After everything was done and dusted, it was time to unwind as the close family and guests gathered for an after-party in the banquet hall. The party continued till late in the night and we stuck around clicking pictures until everyone decided to call it a day.

This is how the wedding was planned and executed the MONIRUN-way. Now take a moment, hold your breath to witness this beautiful wedding in KnotsbyAMP style.

White weddings are the stories of vision in monochrome & how much we love shooting them. This was the second white wedding of this wedding season, out of the total three we covered. As we gear up for two more white weddings in 2019, here is a story of Ishita & Snehasish’s white wedding at Lily White Hotel in Delhi, shot on the second last day of 2017.  And what an amazing shoot to end the year!

Ishita, a Punjabi & Snehasish, a Bengali Christian have been together for a decade, and they were destined to get married. However, when two different faiths meet, its absolutely amazing to see the amalgamation of both the wonderful traditions. That’s what exactly happened – a dreamy white wedding followed by a beautiful indian wedding. The indian wedding would be coming up in the next blog. Here is the take on the beautiful white wedding & all the memories we made for them!

Delhi weddings have an own charm and feel to them! Lily White Hotel at Chattarpur, New Delhi served as a great venue with its lavish banquet hall & a lush green lawn to host the beautiful double weddings.

On the big day, Ishita got ready in a beautiful white gown, and we made some photographs with her bridesmaids who couldn’t be more happier to see their darling dressed as a bride. Ishita’s father too couldn’t believe that its finally happening, and what followed everywhere was extreme happiness!

And, here goes the story from Snehasish’s dressing room and all the action behind the groom getting ready for his special day.

And here goes the wedding photographs. Beautiful, dreamy and with all the emotions. A father’s happiness, a couple’s joys on a new journey, bittersweet moments of a bride & all the celebrations galore is what we saw and that’s what we would like to share. Its so beautiful to see how efficient planning can lead to such brilliant celebrations. Thank you Ishita, Snehasish & Nikita for extending all your support to us, being so cooperative & always so enthusiastic even though it was freezing cold in Delhi that time. The photographs to take over, now!

Christian wedding in Navi Mumbai

This time around we got an opportunity to cover the wedding of Albert and Rebecca who got married in Nerul church through Syrian Christian customs followed by a grand reception at the CIDCO exhibition center. So most of our clients are predominantly the couple who first get in touch with us. But of late we are finding that parents are now increasingly getting in touch with us, which is a testimony of the paradigm shift which is taking place in Wedding Photography. These days parents are increasingly understanding the value of good photography and are ready to get the best for their children’s wedding. In this case as Albert works in UK with Apple Inc, his dad was in constant touch with us and brought us on-board.

Albert hails from Mumbai while Rebecca is from Chennai. Their wedding took place in Nerul church atop the hill in Navi Mumbai. You will get to see the story of the day unfolded more through the groom’s side as we were hired to do so. We love covering Christian Wedding as they are not so hectic in their schedule and are really fun and have a lot of character to them.  Will now let the photographs tell the story.

Multicutural Wedding in Ambarnath, Thane.

Multicutural Wedding in Ambarnath, Thane.

Multicutural Wedding in Ambarnath, Thane.

At AMP we have shot diverse weddings starting from Tulsi Vivaah, Sangeet party, Catholic wedding, many kinds of Hindu weddings and almost everything under the sun. Just as we were about to define diversity we stumbled upon Mayank and Roshni’s wedding that had it all in one. A true celebration of love that is bound by no culture. The joy of being together for a life time, flashed with the same energy and enthusiasm in all forms. If someone has taken mixing of diverse genes for superior progeny most seriously, it has to be them.

While Mayank is half punjabi and half malayali christian, Roshni comes from a Mangalorean Hindu family. Their union is perfect example of unity in diversity of India and how love can bring two different families together.

Their wedding was a three day affair. While Mayank knew Anupam from school, when Roshini stumbled across our work on facebook she suggested that they hire us. This came as a no-brainer to Mayank, and we were on-board to capture this amazing wedding.

The wedding took place in Ambarnath, Thane. The pre-wedding jitters were expressed in the form of endless dancing and a bunch of cocktails. The ambience was all set for a three day long gala wedding. The next day began with the Bride and the Groom taking the vows at the altar. Roshini was dressed in an alluring white gown with a glittery tiara on her head. Mayank walked into the church in a black suit and bow tie. The wedding was followed by an evening reception where Roshini wore a pink lahenga and of course, her dazzling smile! It is worth mentioning that the couple’s enthusiasm for the photographs was immense and during the couple shoot where couples generally get tired after 15-20 minutes of exploring the venue for perfect backdrops for some classy and memorable couple photographs, they were super thrilled to go on till 3 am in the night. Most weddings end there, but given the dynamite of energy that these guys were, this wasn’t the end!

The third and most fascinating day of ceremonies began when Roshini stepped down in a stunning purple saree for going through a Mangalorean style wedding. The ambience of the wedding suddenly changed into one with Nadaswaram and Thavil (shehnai and drums) pepping up the mood, gorgeous ladies in silk sarees and men wrapped in traditional munds. The ceremony began with a morning pooja followed by pheras. Roshini changed into a traditional Orange Kanjeevaram saree for the pheras. Throughout the wedding Mayank and Roshini enjoyed the energy in the room for their union. The day ended with this zealous couple walking to a 12th century ancient temple in Ambarnath, where we captured some of their shots with the magnificent architecture in the background. This wedding gave us so many opportunities to just keeping on capturing the marvel of so many cultures. We saw the couple walking the isle and taking the vows at the altar and then saw them the next day holding hands around the sacred fire. Love is indeed defined by the sparkle of smiles on the faces of the two people, whether in a church or a temple.
