Offbeat Pre-Wedding Shoot in Mumbai

We are sure you will find this pre-wedding shoot unusual and different from what you may have seen so far. As couples increasingly look to do something different from the rest, they are ready to get out of their comfort zone and try new ideas. We feel the best way to do something different is to personalize the shoot by letting the photographs depict your personality and story.

Creative Pre Wedding Photoshoot: Blending Tradition with Innovation

Omkar & Punita wanted an unusual and different pre-wedding shoot from the beginning. We brainstormed many ideas, from basing it on their personality, shooting entirely in a studio, to an intimate boudoir shoot. What we finally ended up doing was a mix of the usual and unusual. Hence, the photographs reflect their chemistry at Mumbai’s iconic Gateway of India, a comic re-enactment of how they met through their mutual friend – Pranav.

The intimate shoot at a beautiful property – Seven Sands Villa, in Lonavala, culminated with a re-staging of “Tip Tip Barsa Pani” from the movie Mohra. The location for the second half of the pre-wedding was Seven-Sands Villa in Lonavala. Thanks to Vishal and Mrinal and their hospitality, we had a hassle-free shooting experience at their property.

The Charm of a Court Wedding: A Unique Experience

We all must admit that most of us men have at least once or more have fantasized about getting married in a court. The brevity, simplicity, and yes, the savings coupled with the absence of long guest-lists and annoying relatives make it an icing on the cake. While I didn’t have the fortune of getting married in the court, my long-cherished desire to cover a court wedding was fulfilled through a client reference.

Capturing the Court Wedding of Wildlife Conservationists

Receiving an enquiry from Hans Dalal was a moment of privilege. The groom and the bride, both wildlife photographers working for the preservation of wildlife at Tadoba National Park, Maharashtra, chose us to capture their special day. It’s always an honor when photographers select you to shoot their wedding, even more so when they are such distinguished individuals dedicated to making this world a better place.

Wedding Stories of Conservationists

Hans, despite suffering from cerebral palsy, was a sound engineer who worked on many Bollywood scores before diving into wildlife conservation. The bride, Avantika Chandra, previously engaged in the airline industry with KLM, collaborated with Hans to start their NGO – PROWL. Their story is not just about their wedding but about their journey together towards conservation and community service.

Jasjeet and Anshadeep were very particular that they wanted their pre-wedding shoot in natural environment amidst scenic beauty, Moreover they wanted something closer to Mumbai, so Pawna lake in Lonavala came across as the obvious choice. So while we decided on Pawna to be our destination, we took full advantage of the natural treasures that lay en-route. As they say, journey is more beautiful than the destination. So, while you will see a lot of photographs are around Pawna Lake, a significant number were taken all over Lonavala. For this shoot we preferred environmental portraits than using different props as we didn’t want to keep the frames simple and more about the silent symphony of their chemistry and the splendid beauty of the nature.

Gujrati Wedding at Acres Club

Some stories are created with the sheer presence of wide smiles and true love. Harshit and Kinjal, with whom we spent a second innings on their wedding day, are just the kinds who would make photography truly pleasurable. After their Bollywood clad pre-wedding shoot it was a day we all were looking forward to capture. Harshit a CA and Kinjal a dentist, met through their families and this arranged marriage blends so beautifully that one cannot believe how young their love is. The eternal smile on their faces when they look at each other and the endless excitement defines their wedding day!
The wedding took place on the 2nd of February at Acres Club in Chembur. The bride’s flawless make-up team made sure that the groom held his breath when he saw her. A bunch of fun-loving people who didn’t miss to take a shot of any side of the bride’s glowing face and were captured in action in several of our pictures. The Baarat arrived at the venue at noon headed by beautiful cousins, energetic friends, charged up relatives and non-stop band-baaja, all moving to the tunes of Garba and celebrating the most joyous moment of the groom’s life. The groom sat in the car with his sister who was carrying a small bell in her hand, which in the Gujarati tradition is said to protect the groom from evil eyes. As the Baraatis entered the venue, the bride and the groom exchanged Varmala, after going through the intense struggle of reaching out to each other at unusual heights. The wedding followed through the other rituals of kanyadaan, pheras and Bidai. The bride’s mother always carried a mixed feeling of joy and remorse, seeing her little princess starting a new life. Often behind her wide smile she hid her tears, which she finally let lose during Bidai. Both the families together created a huge funfair at the wedding where every moment was lived with full energy and enthusiasm.
