Father’s Day 2023- A Photo Story

Our Fathers are our first heroes.

A father is someone who is always present when you experiment and pulls you up when you fall. He watches from the shadows and silently guards us against all threats of the world. A father is someone who we look up to no matter how tall we grow. They silently support us with the warmest smiles and sometimes with heavy hearts. We cannot imagine our lives without them.

And of course words are not enough to express what they mean to us, and hence we have photographs. Like they say – A picture is worth a thousand words. Here are some of our favorite pictures over the years, and how we love and cherish them. On this Father’s day, here’s honouring our fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles, or any important male figure who have played a significant role in our lives. Happy Father’s Day to the amazing fathers out there. Thank you for guiding us in the right direction and being a source of strength and support.

Maharashtrian Wedding at The Westin, Powai

Maharashtrian Wedding at The Westin, Powai

Maharashtrian Wedding at The Westin, Powai

Abhijeet and Siddhata tied the knot at the iconic The Westin with its serene lake views situated in the bustling suburbs of Powai, Mumbai. Maharashtrian Weddings are known for their simplicity but they are truly beautiful with the rituals and attires. Their wedding photos showcase the charming aspects of the property such as the lush green venue and the calm blue lake.

Abhijeet first saw Siddhata in their University Library where at first sight she left such an impression in his mind that he got nervous to talk to her at that minute but after a few weeks of small talk he finally asked her out for coffee… They soon dated throughout University and after graduating when she moved to a new state miles away from him. He used to spend half his salary to visit her every few months! But that hard work paid off and the day finally arrived when the two joined hands and decided to make it a forever thing.

Set against the backdrop of the serene lake, their wedding mandap was decorated with various types of roses that illuminated the glow on both their faces. Abhijeet rolled up in a Maserati to his baraat and everyone danced around him and paved the way for him. Siddhata’s entry was fun and light-hearted as she made her way to the Mandap when the moment their eyes met, it was like witnessing pure love. The love and happiness around them were lit in every way. We got to witness cute moments unfold throughout the wedding, Abhijeet could not take his eyes off Siddhata, and it made our work easy. They had the Reception in Raddison Blu, Nagpur where their closest friends and family joined them in completing their special day.

Destination Wedding at Southern Palms in Kenya

Mona and Imran’s dreamy destination wedding still gives us all the feels! They got married in Southern Palms, Kenya which sits at the edge of the Indian Ocean on the gorgeous, renowned Diani Beach where the white sand and blue skies played a huge role in these swoon-worthy photos! We were so happy to be a part of their stunning, crazy, three-day-long party with close family and friends coming from afar to celebrate this special occasion.

Have a look at this amazing film before you read on –

Check out Naiya & Darshan’s wedding we covered in Kenya as well!

Day 1

Their Pre Wedding was just as beautiful as the country and the couple we were shooting. We got a couple of dreamy shots of them walking along the shores of Diani Beach and course a couple of fun playful shots!

Mehendi Ceremony was a chill event with Mona getting her hands designed and people gathering around for dinner.

Day 2

Imran’s Dirty Pithi Ceremony was an affair that we couldn’t have even imagined. His friends and family threw water at him, emptied bottles of ketchup and mustard, and broke eggs on his head! Then he went for a dip in the water to get rid of the pantry items on his body!

Mandvo & Pithi was a more formal ceremony where their close ones congratulated them and gave their blessings.

Sangeet was a memorable affair with incredible performances by the family followed by more dancing throughout the night. For Imran’s performance he came sporting a colourful vest flaunting his 6 pack abs and dazzled everyone with his moves. The rest of the night was so much fun that we found ourselves grooving to the beat and tapping our feet while shooting!

Day 3

Mona’s bridesmaid’s were the cutest! After helping her get ready, we got beautiful portraits of Mona and her nice moment of Imran and his father getting ready for the big day ahead. Their wedding venue set against the backdrop of the ocean with white roses was truly beautiful. After their Nikkah got over, the smiles on their faces were ever so bright. The joy radiating off both their faces was apparent as you can see!

Later that day in the evening, the couple made their entry with a bang towards the Reception where the celebrations continued with a cake cutting, the first dance by the couple, speeches from the family and a father-daughter dance. The party went on till dawn with people drinking and dancing the night away.

North Indian Wedding at Jai Mahal Palace

Aditya and Anjali’s royal affair took place at Jai Mahal Palace, Jaipur which is set in a picturesque exuberance of royalty and opulence. This Floating Palace was the perfect venue for their elegant wedding. These two are lawyers who met through mutual friends in college and after a few interactions about their love for food and travel, that was the beginning of a beautiful romance.

After the wedding got pushed back because of covid…twice! They finally got to tie the knot in this magnificent palace surrounded by their family and friends. We loved capturing their special day and as you can see, the chemistry between them is evident in the photos.

Pre-Wedding Shoot in Hampi

Pre-Wedding Shoot in Hampi

Pre-Wedding Shoot in Hampi

We always wanted to do a pre-wedding shoot in Hampi, one of the best locations for pre-wedding in India, undoubtedly. This was our second outing with Sachin & Neeraja, post covering their engagement in July last year. And one day at a meeting in our office, we brainstormed together and decided to shoot their pre wedding at Hampi. It was a unanimous decision, and all of us were thrilled and waited eagerly for the shoot.

Sachin is a lawyer and Neeraja is a dentist by profession. Sachin & Neeraja are the classic case of how “opposites attract each other”. Its an arranged love story, that they call it. But once you meet them, you will feel that they know each other since ages. Their love, chemistry & joys in enjoying little moments and taking turns to tease each other are something which makes their relationship more special & unique. And naturally, we were thrilled to be on-board the second time for their pre-wedding shoot in Hampi.

So, we were all set. We left the next day after Diwali last year, 8th Nov, 2018. Little did we know we were up on an adventure that we would not forget the rest of our lives. The plan was to travel Hampi via road. We got the delivery of our new car Tata Nexon on the day of Diwali. And Anupam was really thrilled to take it out the next day. We were set to cover a distance of 730 km in 13 hrs. Sachin & Neeraja also joined us on road, in their Renault Captur

Hampi is charismatic even in its ruined state, the beauty lies in the temples, ruins of palaces, remains of aquatic structures, ancient market streets, royal pavilions, bastions, royal platforms, treasury buildings. And when there is an even more charismatic & enthusiastic couple, the joy of shooting is all the more. Together with #saneera & the temples, the ruins & the boulder strewn structures, we made some stunning photographs. And, all the drive and the journey throughout was really worth it!

We shot across multiple locations starting off with Virupaksha Temple in the background at the Hemakutta Group of temple complex. This pretty much took the entire one morning. Thereafter we advanced to structures at Hampi Bazaar opposite the Krishna Temple. In the evening we proceeded to the hill of Raghunath Temple. This has a great view of the sunset and is free of any interruptions and guards. The best part of shooting in Hampi is that one doesn’t really need to shoot at Famous temple but you can always choose a hillock with some ruins around or a hill simply with a good view. The whole landscape is very beautiful with big boulders and small hillocks, lush green fields and the Tungabhadra River flowing across this landscape lending it a scenic charm. On driving back to Mumbai we took a detour to Pattadakal & Badami.

A few things to keep in mind (for the photographers & the couples) if you decide to shoot in Hampi – a. Do take permission from the authorities of the place before planning a shoot in Hampi, b. Carry comfortable shoes as it involves a lot of climbing up and down on the boulder structures. c. Carry hair spray, as it might get too windy to hold your locks in place.
