Prashant & Antara had an amazing wedding under a tree at IIT Bombay

We had a chance to cover Prashant and Antara’s beautiful and colorful wedding in Powai, Mumbai. The first day of the festivities started with a vibrant haldi at Meluha The Fern. We saw very joyous yellow vibes, and no one was spared. The action was soon followed by a flower and water shower, and things turned out to be really epic and crazy. The evening was glitzy and glamorous as our dearest couple entered hand in hand for their sangeet, followed by some singing and dancing. The crowd was enthralled and it was indeed one beautiful evening of catching-ups, get-togethers, and new memories got made, along with cherishing old ones.

The wedding day was a beautiful one, it was a Maharashtrian wedding at IIT Bombay. Antara’s father is the Dean (R&D) of IIT Bombay and heads the mechanical engineering department of IIT Bombay. And therefore, it naturally just fell in their plans to consider IIT Bombay for the wedding. The IIT Bombay campus is a green heaven and nestles among the hills, flanked by Powai and Vihar Lakes. Check out one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve shot overlooking Powai Lake – Jatin & Levina.

The aura at Prashant and Antara’s wedding was magical. The mandap was set under a tree and was spectacular in every way. Antara was excited, getting ready and donning a red kanjeevaram, and looking like a dream. Prashant complemented her in his cream sherwani. The entire day was beautiful, and a rightful reminder of the fact that day weddings are just the best for great photos. They also went out of the conventions, as they had woman priests officiating the wedding. We are thankful to be a part of this stunning occasion. Samruddhi and Ripujit’s paths crossed during their masters at university. They didn’t have any classes together, but they both had a mutual friend who happened to be Ripujit’s roommate. One day, this friend invited Samruddhi to Ripujit’s birthday party, which he hosted at their shared apartment. He was cooking for 20 people and promised it would be a fun night.

When Samruddhi arrived at the party, she was struck by how charming and engaging Ripujit was. He was moving around the room, ensuring everyone was having a good time, and she found herself drawn to him. They started talking and laughing, and by the end of the night, she felt a strong connection with him.

Abhijeet and Siddhata tied the knot at the iconic The Westin with its serene lake views situated in the bustling suburbs of Powai, Mumbai. Maharashtrian Weddings are known for their simplicity but they are truly beautiful with the rituals and attires. Their wedding photos showcase the charming aspects of the property such as the lush green venue and the calm blue lake.

Abhijeet first saw Siddhata in their University Library where at first sight she left such an impression in his mind that he got nervous to talk to her at that minute but after a few weeks of small talk he finally asked her out for coffee… They soon dated throughout University and after graduating when she moved to a new state miles away from him. He used to spend half his salary to visit her every few months! But that hard work paid off and the day finally arrived when the two joined hands and decided to make it a forever thing.

Set against the backdrop of the serene lake, their wedding mandap was decorated with various types of roses that illuminated the glow on both their faces. Abhijeet rolled up in a Maserati to his baraat and everyone danced around him and paved the way for him. Siddhata’s entry was fun and light-hearted as she made her way to the Mandap when the moment their eyes met, it was like witnessing pure love. The love and happiness around them were lit in every way. We got to witness cute moments unfold throughout the wedding, Abhijeet could not take his eyes off Siddhata, and it made our work easy. They had the Reception in Raddison Blu, Nagpur where their closest friends and family joined them in completing their special day.

Two Weddings – Four Days of Fun, Dance, Joys & Happiness!

Karan & Sonia’s wedding celebrations had two weddings and four days of celebrations – and we loved being a part of it. This is a christian maharashtrian wedding we covered 🙂

The wedding festivities kicked off by a light-hearted meet and greet event at Kino’s Cottage celebrating Sonia’s malayalam roots in style, a vibrant welcome party kicked off the festivities. The evening saw some performances and soon it broke into a quick after-party. The next day was the catholic wedding which happened at the Francis Church. The day started with Karan & Sonia getting ready at their respective houses. We witnessed moments, with so much peace and calmness at the church. However, things soon turned crazy at the evening reception. And the evening saw dances, toasts, wedding march and some great food spread.

A week later, the maharashtrian wedding was planned. The first day of the maharashtrian wedding celebrations saw the sangeet. Karan & Sonia made a grand entry, which was beautiful and stunning. Further, their dance performances made the crowd go tottaly in awe of them. Later, the party went on till the wee hours of the night making people come to their true elements.  The wedding day started early, and saw décor in a palette of lavender that lit up the lush greenery of Taj Lands End Mumbai. Check out our other weddings covered at Taj Lands End (Vishesh-Dhvani, Sanjana – Rahul, Mugdhaa-Devam). Sonia wore a purple navari and looked gorgeous in every way, while Karan wore a serene blend of white and blush. Their day wedding was beautiful and dreamy in every way, and would give you serious wedding goals.

It was our absolute pleasure to work with Sonia & Karan. We spoke for the first time over a zoom call, and had a great rapport. Over a few more zoom calls, the decision was made. And these guys had us on-board with almost nine months left for the wedding. We always aim at forming lasting relationships with our couples and families, and that exactly happened in their case. Along with our beautiful couple, both the families were super warm and enthusiastic, and made the wedding totally memorable.

Maharashtrian Wedding in Aurangabad

Maharashtrian Wedding in Aurangabad

Sanket & Monika got married at Ajanta Ambassador, Aurangabad and it was such a beautiful & vibrant wedding filled with colours, emotions, love & warmth. It was maharashtrian wedding, but very different from the usual ones 🙂

What started as an arranged marriage match for them, ended in finding the truest love. Sanket did his part of surprising her several times in their courtship period, and thus wooing her eventually. A dreamy proposal sealed their deal. They were staying in two different cities, Sanket in Pune & Monika in Aurangabad. This is their story in Sanket’s words –

We were introduced by our parents as it’s was an arranged marriage. The initial stage was confusing and our parents were gracious to provide both of us with enough time to take a decision on each other. We were glad and equally happy for us that we moved ahead together. Out of the 3 months of our courtship period, It took us almost 2 months to have our first picture clicked as both of us were of shy nature and took our own time as we also didn’t get to spend as much time as we wished. However the next month, we bonded and fell in love. I was the one who started falling for this relationship first so that meant I had to be the one taking more efforts. She planned to watch a movie with me for that I would travel all the way to her city Aurangabad , if we had a fight although because of me, again I had to travel to the city to make it up to her. It was 26th December 2018, when I proposed her. So the plan started 2 months ago and in that time period I had a rough idea of what I was thinking to do for that special day. I wanted it to be done on a lake with lanterns and on a boat with fireworks. I made sure that she wears the clothes that I bought for her on that day so I had to buy 4 set of clothes to let her have options and choose. I planned to travel 1100 kms in 21 hours thanks to my car so that I could pick her up from home and take her to the place where I planned to propose her. And I was totally thrilled when she said yes. That was the month where she and I got to know each other on a different level. On 3rd January 2019, we got engaged. And now both of us feel like that yes we can’t wait and to get married, so don’t know if it’s an arranged or love marriage.😅

They were looking for best candid wedding photographers to capture their wedding and that’s how they approached us. We were privileged enough to spend a day with them before their wedding, for their pre-wedding shoot at Dapoli. Together with them, we explored the amazing beaches, ran with the windy breeze, played with splashy waters & danced along. And of course, took some pictures. They wanted to re-create their proposal story. The set-up with the curtains, lights, ballons, candles, wine, chocolates, cushion pillows & “name it & they had it all” possible goodies made way in creating the most beautiful proposal we had seen. Monika said yes once again to Sanket. The fact that we bonded so well made us look really forward to the wedding, by the end of the shoot. The Wedding
The Wedding festivities started with the haldi. They had kept a “south indian” themed haldi. It started with a ceremonial bathing of the bride and groom in the open amidst cloudy skies. Thereafter, rains visited as a surprise, all of us had to rush indoors. The next ceremony of haldi was supposed to happen outdoors, and all of us including the couple, family & friends waited anxiously for the rains to stop. Every cloud has a silver lining, they say. Its very true indeed! The rains stopped and they had a beautiful haldi ceremony with so much fun scenes happening. Like literally, even the photographers weren’t spared by the bride. It was followed by a few rounds of grand flower shower on the couple. Looked surreal, gorgeous & stunning as we freezed the moments in our cameras.
The Sangeet started with a grand entry of the couple in a chariot. That magical evening saw a lot of performances from the closed family, friends and relatives. Monika enthralled the audience with her performance. We had gotten to believe by then that Sanket & surprises go hand in hand. And, he pulled off a surprise dance performance for Monika. It was a very emotional moment for her, and we loved seeing her reactions as he nailed his performance. What followed next was a beautiful couple dance performance and then the families got together on stage, the happy scene being lit with fireworks. The last day before their big day, and we saw everyone overwhelmed with emotions.

The wedding day started with the bride and groom getting ready in their respective rooms. Soon thereafter, the wedding vidhis started. There were smiling glances and happiness throughout the wedding. It was followed by the baraat & antarpat. And thus, vows for lifetime togetherness was sealed. The wedding ended with a surprise music performance by Gilbert Gauci (Sanket’s friend from Scotland who is an amazing singer)

The grand reception in the evening was a perfect culmination of all the events put together. And we loved the way Monika & Sanket made an entry amidst the pyro fireworks & thai dancers. There are some special people who continuously worked to make sure that bride & groom aren’t stressed & deserve a mention – Meenal, Kaushal, Shrikant, Aditya, Rohit. Thank you guys, you all were super amazing and super supportive. Thank you Sanket & Monika for letting us be a part of your big day, you both are adorable.

“From the time we saw the work done by KnotsbyAMP on their Instagram page, we knew these guys were great. Now we couldn’t be any happier for choosing them to capture such an important day in our lives. Each time we go through the pictures, our hearts are filled with so much joy and unknowingly we cherish all the beautiful moments from our wedding day. There are good photos and then there those photos that make you relive each and every moment from that special day. The pictures clicked by KnotsbyAMP fall in the latter category. All thanks to them that we get to relive our wedding day, time and again through all those beautiful moments they have captured. They are definitely the best wedding photographers in Mumbai.”
– Ankur & Akshata

There are some people whom you meet and instantly connect with them, as if you knew them since ages. The same thing happened to us with Ankur & Akshata. After chatting and hanging out with them over calls, Anupam and I, first met them some time in August last year in a quaint little cafe in South Mumbai. As it rained and we sipped our coffees, we got into talking about how they were planning their big day. We also got to know their story and were naturally quite excited to shoot their wedding. They had already seen our work and were very convinced about it. Such warm people that they were, that it felt more like a friend’s wedding planning rather. As the conversation shaped its way ahead, they eventually finalized us for their wedding.

The day of wedding started with Ankur & Akshata getting ready at Ramee Guestline Hotel in Dadar, Mumbai. What a beautiful day it was and we made the most of it. Ankur & Akshata got ready in their respective hotel rooms, and we started capturing them. Their friends and family were around and actively took part in all the getting ready process that was happening. Akshata got ready in a royal yellow saree paired with a red blouse. She complimented her look with a beautiful choker jewelry set. We loved how she kept her look minimalist and simple, but how gorgeous and elegant this girl looked! Her friends were very right in joking around that Ankur will go awestruck and speechless when he sees her, and we kept wondering what it would be when that happens. Ankur looked dapper in his cream sherwani. We quickly made his portraits, as he had to leave first for the wedding venue. Akshata also had the best girls as bridesmaids, and they deserve a special mention. They impatiently waited for their bestie to be dressed up as a bride. And when she finally got ready, they were all amazed in awe. What followed were some amazing photos with the bride and her bridesmaids, and literally captured the happiness around. By the time we finished the portraits with the girls, the groom had already reached the wedding venue. It was time for the bride to make an entry. One of the special memories from the was that we headed to wedding venue with the bride and her bestie, in our car. And that was really fun!

Akshata made an entry, amidst dhol playing and people dancing. Ankur was sitting on the mandap. And the moment their eyes met, it was like witnessing pure love. It was the day, a decade long love story was culminating to a forever story, and the love and happiness around was lit in every way. We got to witness cute moments unfold throughout the wedding, Ankur could not take his eyes off Akshata, and all of it somehow made our work easier. They got married, in the beautiful golden hour and everything felt just magical. The wedding was followed by an evening reception. But, as they say, words always fail to describe feelings, and for the same reasons, we have pictures. So here you go now – #ankgothispai is all for you to see now!
