Love stories that begin as friendships are our favorites. They hold within them a special quality of ease and comfort, something which cannot be brewed artificially, which we witnessed at Mamta and Shekhar’s Wedding.

The duo met each other during their college time and became really good friends. Cupid decided to intervene and struck the unwitting duo and they soon started dating.

When college ended, the prospect of going to different cities came to the forefront. But for these two, it worked wonders in terms of bringing them closer and things got official real quick. And here we are now, capturing them as they head towards their matrimonial bliss! Have a look!

Destination Wedding in Hua Hin, Thailand

Destination Wedding in Hua Hin, Thailand

Destination Wedding in Hua Hin, Thailand

It is not everyday that you cover an Olympian’s wedding. We had the good fortune of covering Neha Aggarwal’s wedding, an Olympian who represented India in Table Tennis in Beijing Olympics at the age of 18 in 2008. The ace player got hitched to a businessman and erstwhile TT player Shubham Sharma from Hyderabad. Their wedding was a beautiful destination wedding at Sheraton Hua Hin, Thailand.  So let’s begin with a small teaser of their wedding.

The wedding festivities were spread over 3 days with people attending the wedding from all over the world. The Sharma and Aggarwal family wanted to throw a grand wedding where everyone can have non-stop fun and the obvious choice was the popular destination of Thailand, a country which has become a favourite with Indians for its spectacular natural beauty, hospitality and easy accessibility from all major cities of India. Hua Hin a popular coastal city, 3 hours away from Bangkok has some beautiful 5 star hotel and resorts and Sheraton Hua Hin has the distinction of hosting most number of Indian weddings than any other property in Thailand.

As soon as the guests landed at the gates of the hotel, they were greeted by the traditional Thai dancers with Sharma and Aggarwal family ready to welcome them. For us the real thing started with the bride’s Mehendi in her suite. As soon as we entered her room an excited Neha greeted us with a wide grin and at that moment we knew we are going to have a great time covering this wedding.

Following the Mehendi we took some fun photographs outside where she jumped, she smiled and even posed with a TT racket for us! Soon the evening arrived and the sea facing lawns overlooking the pool were decorated for the Mehendi function where cocktails flowed and the bride and groom made an entry on a ATV vehicle. The DJ and the music kept rolling and people danced throughout the night. Now normally the day would end there, but it was followed with a black after party in the Resort’s club. As soon as the door the club opened a dancer welcomed people with her seductive moves. It was a sight to behold where one dancer was swaying on a swing and another was dancing in a big metal cage.  While we could go on and on about the after party we feel its best left for the photos to do the talking as they say a good photograph is worth more than a thousand words.

The second day started with Haldi ceremony of the bride and the groom which was followed quickly by a bohemian themed pool party. A carnival set up offered people chilled coconut water in the scorching heat. But the highlight remained the Table Tennis game between the bride and the groom! Any guesses who won?

Then came the evening and the grand ballroom was lit with lights and a grand stage was set for the Sangeet night. The groom arrived and soon was surrounded by pretty ladies all over. He made his way to the stage and while he  performed the ceremonies he waited for his bride anxiously. As soon as the bride arrived, all eyes were set on her. Both the families took the stage by storm and it was a beautiful spectacle with some great light work by the lights team. Pink Palki, the event organisers did a brilliant job with the decoration and setup. Once the performances ended, the DJ took over and people danced till late in the morning.

The third day started with Gaur Pooja  and post lunch the bride and groom went for a relaxing spa. After all a trip to Thailand is incomplete without experiencing the Thai spa. Immediately after the bride and the groom left to get ready for their big day and their excitement was palpable that it spread to us. The bride made her entry with her brothers and father. It was an emotional moment when her father held her hand and walked her to the mandap. Sparkles lined up their entry and a cute little girl held the sign board – Here comes the bride. The bride and grooms eye met during as she climbed the staircase for the JaiMaal. The groom popped a bottle of champagne post the Jaimaal. Finally they took the pheras in a beautiful Hindu ceremony and when it finally came to Neha’s bidai it was yet another emotional moment. She got ferried in a Thai style Palanquin and she also danced her way through the journey and thus this beautiful wedding marked a new beginning in Neha and Shubham’s new #MixedDoublesForever journey!

North Indian Wedding in Delhi at Atrio

North Indian Wedding in Delhi at Atrio

North Indian Wedding in Delhi at Atrio

Sidhant and Barkha’s Delhi December Wedding stands out for lot of reasons. Every couple puts their heart and soul into their wedding planning but yet often something or the other goes wrong. Sidhant and Barkha’s wedding on the other hand begs to be different where everything worked well for them. From bringing in different flavours and feels, they hit the right notes in balancing simple home functions like Mehandi and Haldi to a typical grand Delhi wedding at Atrio, Gurgaon and last but not the least their choice of wedding photographers in us, all the way from Mumbai. Finally, the chilly cold weather of Delhi made it even more joyful. But most of all what truly caught our attention is that Barkha chose to wear her mother’s wedding saree for her big day!

Sidhant and Barkha’s wedding festivities spanned over two days-
Day 1 : Engagement at Engineers Mess in Delhi Cant, Evening bridal mehandi at her residence.
Day 2:  Bride and Groom’s Haldi at their residence  in Gurgoan and Delhi Cant respectively. Wedding at Atrio, Gurgoan

The Engineers Mess in Delhi Cantonment made for an offbeat and private venue for the engagement. The photos of decorated officers on the walls, the greenery and the calmness of cantonment created a venerable aura about the place. The engagement was followed by Mehendi and Sangeet in the evening at Barkha’s house in Delhi. The bride, her family and friends danced till the wee hours of the night, with the groom joining the scenes too. The next day started with the haldi at both the sides. Sidhant’s haldi happened in the open lawn in the natural light with friends arriving and making it a holi haldi, Barkha’s haldi happened at her house, joined by her friends and family. Lastly, the grand wedding happened at Atrio, Gurgaon summing up the wedding festivities perfectly. The venue was gorgeously decorated with lights. The groom reached the venue before time and the crazy friends went frenzy at the Baraat. And as it neared midnight, Sidhant and Barkha said their vows to each other and promised to be together forever.

Thank you Sidhant & Barkha for choosing us to capture your special day. We absolutely loved to be a part of your big day and totally grateful to both the families for the warmth and love.

North Indian Wedding in Mumbai

North Indian Wedding in Mumbai

North Indian Wedding in Mumbai

In our wedding photography career, we have never found any two weddings similar. Its always that the people & the circumstances, which blends in together and makes for a different experience each time. Sometimes, its also about challenges.

Aditi & Vikas’s wedding in Mumbai was a beautiful affair which lasted for 3 days. The wedding festivities started with the cocktail, mehendi & sangeet and ended with the wedding in north indian style. The bubbly bride Aditi was sporty enough to try out whatever suggestions we had, and it was so much fun to shoot her. However, the major challenge for us was to capture her wedding due to the heavy rains on the day of her wedding on 4 December, 2017. But the show went on despite the rains. As Aditi got ready at MAC studio in Juhu, she kept on taking updates on the rain. The baraat fun didn’t stop with the downpour. A salute to the spirit of bride and groom’s families and all the guests involved. But moreover you have to see how happy the bride was, despite all the arrangements and decoration going haywire. The complete photo-set is below! Checkout!

A lesson to be learnt here – Don’t let adversity come in the way of your joy!

“KnotsbyAMP are a team of excellent photographers especially with candid shots. They are very professional, accommodating and creative. They cater to your requirements with an eye to capture the best moments. Would highly recommend!”

For a couple, who value detailed little things and the intricacies that go behind it, choosing a photographer to capture their wedding had to be thoughtfully done. The groom, a hobbyist photographer himself understands the nuances of photography. Initially, they were planning to hire a photographer from NY itself. But when they saw our work on Facebook, they were particularly impressed by the candid timing of the pictures, the details we captured at the weddings, and our creative lighting setups. So after a series of calls, e-mails and meetings, we were booked and all eyes were set on 28th May, 2015; when the handsome groom and the exuberant bride were tying the knot. Our experience of covering this wedding was totally remarkable as there was so much love and energy spread throughout the 2 and 1/2 days.

The marriage function kick-started with groom’s haldi on one side and Natasha’s mehendi on the other. Groom’s haldi was a fun-filled event, where the groom-to-be was pampered with yellow hues all over his face by his family members and relatives. On the other hand, Natasha’s Mehendi ceremony was spectacularly beautiful. She adorned herself in a baby pink lehanga with a stellar white earring set, jhoomka on her forehead and a long neck-piece set. It is interesting to mention here that Natasha’s entire ensemble for her wedding was designed with a lot of love by her own mother.

Post the haldi and mehendi functions, we headed to cover the most happening cocktail party at the NSCI club (National Sports Club of India). The sangeet and the cocktail functions were clubbed together, and the fun we saw is too hard to describe here. The couple   conceptualized a Bollywood theme which was executed flawlessly with the help of their friends; the highlight being cameos by Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan look-a-likes. The function saw the presence of a star-studded guest list and the happening crowd of South Bombay. So, there were lights, props, photo-booths, a magnificent stage, a bunch of crazy friends and last but not the least, alcohol. The night saw some sexy and killer moves and grooves of the friends, and the stars of the night who were dressed in Indo-western fusion attire. New friendships were made, old ones were relived, crazy antics were done and new stories came to life on this memorable night. Cocktail-parties surely loosens  up everyone as they plunge into dancing, singing and sharing the joys of their hearts with their near and dear ones.

After back-to-back eventful functions, all of us were eager to capture the D-day. The wedding was to be solemnized as per Arya Samaj rituals at Taj Vivanta (The President Hotel), Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. Natasha looked stunning in her beige and golden lehenga. Credits again to her mom. For jewellery, she chose a heavy Kundan work neck-piece set, coupling them with matching sets in her ears and forehead. Her make-up was flawless and aesthetically done to suit it with her bridal wear and accessories. Her striking look totally set her apart, so much that we received a lot of queries from our friends and clients, asking details about her ensemble, make-up and jewellery, when we posted the wedding pictures on Facebook. The groom chose a white sherwani topping it with a golden pagdi and a shining green neck-piece set and looked dapper in every way. Natasha wearing kaleera in her hands, was escorted to the mandap by her father and loved ones under the cover of a red chunri. As he was waiting eagerly for his bride and when their eyes met, he was totally in awe and bowled over.

As he also mentioned in the wedding film –

“When we were sitting in the mandap getting married, exchanging vows in front of our parents, our friends; it was a bit scary and made me realize — this is legit, this is real; this is two people coming together and committing to spend the rest of their lives together through thick and through thin; and it was a very serious and deep moment, but a meaningful one”

After the traditional rituals took place, there were a flurry of friends and relatives who were eagerly waiting to wish the couple, followed by a cake cutting. And that is how, they got one step closer and each picture brings out the essence of this fun-filled ceremonies and the charming chemistry of the couple 🙂

Also checkout the beautiful short film we made on their wedding. It beautifully captures their journey and the essence of their story and wedding.

P.S. The groom’s name is not mentioned at his request.

Destination Wedding in Noor-us-Sabah Palace

Destination Wedding in Noor-us-Sabah Palace

Destination Wedding in Noor-us-Sabah Palace

It is not everyday you get a chance to cover a destination wedding and when it happens in a palace, the excitement is through the roof. Isha a copywriter with an advertising agency in Delhi was set to marry Rachit, who was pursuing PhD in Sweden. There wedding was to take place in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. As beautiful and old the city is, its culture and traditions are the quintessential representative of the Hindustani culture. It’s Mughal heritage, evident in its cuisine and iconic dwellings and places of worship in Old Bhopal like Taj-al-Masajid; and one of the largest man-made lakes the Bhojtal built by Parmara Raja Bhoj in 11th century along with various Palaces of the Nawab era, lend it a surreal charm. This beautiful city continuing its rich traditions is now a great centre of arts and literature and a premiere hub for education in Madhya Pradesh. If you ever visit this peaceful city, a walk uphill the Shamla Hills and down the Upper-lake along the Boating club is a must. Here you can enjoy a majestic and serene view of the city skyline with small hillocks adorning the skyline with their curves. You can pass hours sipping tea at the beautiful high-garden of Noor-us-Sabah Palace enjoying a majestic view of the lake with a picture-perfect sunset.  You may not have heard of Bhopal as destination for weddings but it is a beautifully charming place to be with plenty of options of great in-expensive hotels for your guest and royal palaces like Noor-us-sabah or Jehan Numa Palace as the ideal venue for your wedding! Not to mention Bhopal is well connected with every part of India and its central location makes it all the more lucrative and convenient. So you get our drift, don’t you? We love Bhopal!

Our first stop was Rachit’s grandparent’s bunglow where we were welcomed by the melodious Shehnai musicians who sat on the front porch. With white walls and a lovely garden with a mango tree, it was a house straight from the story-books. As we entered it where Rachit’s brother Arpit was practicing dance with women folks for one of the performances for the next day’s Sangeet night. The next day early morning started with the Tilak ceremony where the bride’s brother came with gifts and the two families bonded well, there was also a small pooja. The women folk sat singing and playing the dholak. The afternoon light filtered through the white and blue pandal with many candid moments made for some compelling photographs. After the ceremony, everyone assembled in the garden and we captured group photos of the family. You can only say one word when you look at the group photos — picture perfect family!

After a quick time-out and a lazy afternoon of a short nap the sun set down, the sky turned darker and a night of great revelry began. Lovely women huddled up in groups to get their hands colored with Heena  while the men cracked jokes and cherished old friendships over drinks and food. With the arrival of the bride and groom the cousins sprung up into action and they took centre-stage. Everyone from masiji to grandparents, from friends to chachaji and even parents danced and sang through the night.  The highlight of the event being Arpit’s Dadaji’s poem and his words of wisdom. Isha being an expert Kathak dancer delivered a captivating and enthralling performance. Words will fall short but the photographs will truly tell the tale of this beautiful night.

The next day early in the morning we headed out to Bhojtal, the grand lake for a small photo-session exclusively with the bride and groom. The bride was still half asleep as she barely had any sleep after the eventful Sangeet night. But as we warmed up, they soon started enjoying it and they truly cherished getting up in the morning for some amazing photographs. Post the shoot the groom got into whites and everyone had a gala time applying Haldi to him. By the end of the function everyone was yellow and we were richer with so many beautiful photographs. There were only a few hours left for the evening when ‘Dulhe miya’ will ride the ‘ghodi’ and ride to his beautiful destiny which awaited him. It started with groom getting ready which was followed by ‘Sehra-bandi’. After that the band and entire party left for Noor-us-Sabah where they stopped just out side the gates and gathered for the baraat. After quick refreshments the banjo, the saxophone and trumpet all glared and friends and family danced in the cacophony of sounds till they arrived at the door-step where they were welcomed by the bride’s family. The garden was laid with beautiful arrangement of the stage for reception and an English sit-out setup in the high-garden of Noor-us-Sabah. After the reception the ceremonies of the wedding started in a beautiful flower Mandap by the pool. A beautiful setting along with the cold night of February it was a beautiful wedding and the bride and groom looked amazing in their traditional attires. It was a late-night wedding where the women sang emotional folk-songs, hilarious self composed numbers on Bollywood music and teases which kept every one entertained throughout the wedding. Meanwhile groom’s shoes were stolen and he had to pay the sister-in-laws their demanded price! Now we will leave you with photographs to recreate the entire wedding for you.

So if you are planning a wedding in Bhopal, we would love to capture it for you and give you a lifetime of beautiful picture-perfect memories!
